TANZANIA
During my stay, Tanzania wasn't just a place of transit: it was a country that welcomed me. In its villages and communities, I found hospitality, shared time, and a way of being in the world that invites listening. That experience of welcome profoundly influenced the way I photographed: with respect, closeness, and with the awareness of being a guest.
The project is structured into five visual chapters that explore different aspects of Tanzanian life. The portraits, as intimate and personal encounters; the Maasai people, a living symbol of tradition and cultural pride; the surroundings of Lake Eyasi, with everyday scenes full of pause and simplicity; the markets, a vibrant space of social life and color; and, finally, the tribes of Lake Eyasi: Bushmen (who speak in clicks, hunters and gatherers), Datoga (copper workers and historically warriors), and Iraqw (herders and farmers), reveal a deep and diverse cultural richness.
This work doesn't aim to explain Tanzania, but rather to accompany it. Let the images listen to its silences, capture its rhythms, and reveal its essence: its dignity, its diversity, and its humanity.
